Tenant Tip - Don’t be fooled by low advertised rents
Share
Looking for a rental property can be as exciting as it can be harrowing. So, when a more than affordable option comes around, it’s easy to get seduced – especially if your need to move has some urgency.
If you’ve stumbled across what appears to be a dream rental property at an unbelievably low price, resist temptation and look at it objectively. If any of the below examples sound familiar, you may be about to fall victim to a scam. STOP, think things through, and check with the relevant authorities before wasting your time communicating or trying to arrange inspections.
1. The property is not listed on an official real estate website and is much cheaper than normal
2. The landlord is ‘away’ and unable to show you through
3. You are asked to send a deposit in exchange for a key to be posted to you
4. You are asked to supply a bond but no official Bond Lodgment Form is supplied
If in doubt, call us today and ask us about the property you are considering!
